‘Hydrangea Blooming’
by Debbi Nelson
The hydrangea is my favorite flower. Its colors are beautiful and it’s unique in comparison to other flowers. For example, most flowers have one bud and that bud blooms, i.e., a tulip. But the hydrangea has hundreds of teeny, tiny buds that bloom independently of each other. Some bloom earlier than others, while others stand out above the rest. Each bud is a perfect little flower on its own, but when combined with the others, all the perfect, little ones make one large, unified and beautiful flower. This picture shows that the hydrangea is a microcosm of mankind. We all stand on our own, but, together, we can create something really beautiful and unique on this earth.
